The Düsseldorf-Grafenberg racecourse was built in 1909. The gallop races, which had been held since 1836, initially in connection with the Lower Rhine Music Festival, initially took place in the Golzheimer Heide, in the Bilker Busch and in the Benrather Heide, and from 1891 on the Lausward.
