    There is a nice seating area here. Next to it is one of the more than 300 knight stones, which points to the Jungfernstein, an old boundary stone. Four smaller stones are placed around the Jungfernstein.

    "Walks from border marker to border marker were intended to remind the population of the course of the border. The mayor, the city council, the citizens and the male youths took part in this folk custom. The boys were 'punched' at the important border markers. To do this, they had to lie across the boundary stone and received light blows on the buttocks. In this way, they were supposed to memorize the location of the boundary stones. The blows were supposed to be noisy rather than painful. [...]
    At the boundary stones where no 'punches' were given, the boys were given colorful ribbons that they could attach to their hats. Young women (jungles) are said to have been punched at the Jungfernstein, hence the name (Eitelmann 2005, p. 119). [...]
    There are numerous entries on the Jungfernstein. Firstly, there are the dates 1729, 1786, 1858. On the front and back are the coats of arms of the city of Kaiserslautern and the symbol of the wolf's angel for the Premonstratensian monastery in Kaiserslautern. The stone thus marks the border between the Kaiserslautern city forest and the monastery's monastery forest."
