Description:
In the middle of the Hunsrück field there is a gigantic wooden bench with a backrest, which is impressive just by its size. This oversized bench, which can be climbed up via a small staircase, offers a wonderful panoramic view of the surrounding landscape. It is not only a fun photo opportunity, but also a perfect place to take a break and enjoy the vastness of the Hunsrück in peace.
My experience:
This huge bench was one of the highlights of my hike around the Geierlay suspension bridge. It was a surprising discovery that caused a moment of childlike joy. From up here I felt like I was floating over the fields and the view was simply fantastic. An unusual but worthwhile stop on any hike in this region.
Highlight tip:
Take your time to linger on the bench and enjoy the surroundings. It is particularly beautiful here in the early morning or late afternoon when the sun is low and bathes the fields in warm light. Don't forget to take some photos - the bench is truly one of a kind!
Directions:
The bench is easily accessible on foot from the Geierlay suspension bridge. It is located on a dirt road that is part of several hiking trails in the area. Look for the large bench - you won't miss it!
