The orangery is the special exhibition room of the Anhaltische Gemäldegalerie Dessau.
Georgium Castle, which with its park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, houses the Anhaltische Gemäldegalerie Dessau, the art museum for old painting and graphics in Saxony-Anhalt.
The Anhaltische Gemäldegalerie has the largest collection of old paintings in Saxony-Anhalt with around 1500 works.
German paintings from the 15th to 19th centuries and Dutch paintings from the 16th and 17th centuries make up the brilliance of the collections. Outstanding landscapes, portraits and genre pieces by artists such as Lucas Cranach the Elder. Ä., Pieter Brueghel, Salomon van Ruysdael or Johann Friedrich August Tischbein are shown.
