The tunnel, which was probably built in 1559 at the instigation of the Elector of Saxony, dates from the earliest beginnings of Rittersgrüner iron and tin mining. The average height of the tunnel is 1.70 m and the width about 0.65 m. Its length is at least 250 meters, but it is believed to be up to 300 meters. In 1994 the Knappschaft Rittersgrün 1713 e.V. cleared this old tunnel, which had been forgotten, on the northern slope of the Kaffenberg, made it passable and expanded it into a visitor tunnel. stuelpners-orben.de/2018/03/19/fuchsloch-stolln-luchsbachtal
