This chapel - located on a pond, a little way from the Weertstraat - was founded in 1878 by Isabella Teirlinck to obtain a favor or out of gratitude. An inscription in the floor refers to the benefactor.
It is one of the many Chapels of Our Lady in Klein-Brabant that is known for its devotion to Mary. The neoclassical character of the chapel deviates from the more common neo-Gothic style of most chapels from the last quarter of the 19th century.
