Very nice play area for young and old.
Rain or shine, always a nice pastime with the grandchildren to look for Gnomes. Been on many successful trips with the grandchildren to the Kabouterberg in Kasterlee.
Active gnomes would still live and live in this piece of nature, located on the Kempische Heuvelrug. It is a play paradise for little ones, parents. Grandparents can go back to their own childhood for a while. It is best to start the gnome quest at the Kabouter info house, located in the Kabouterstraat.
Here you can easily park on the street side. Just a little puddle? Toilets are provided for adults and children. You can also have a picnic here.
The Kabouterberg is freely accessible. Little legs can easily climb the ridge along a marked trail. For pushchairs there is a parallel, lower, easier alternative route. Parents or grandparents with the greatest sleuth and or fantasy best follow the children / grandchildren. Just romping around in nature and being quiet every now and then because you might have heard gnome rustling… exciting!
At certain points the gnome toads come together again. Along the way there are fun challenges for the little ones, such as solving riddles or climbing aerial roots. Lack of fantasy? You can also join a Leprechaun storyteller every afternoon from 1.30 pm during the school holidays for a small contribution of € 3.50 per child. Reservation is not necessary. One of the parents or grandparents has to go on an adventure but enjoy the stories and children's fantasy for FREE.
Finally, the gnome quest ends at a large sand dune or sand pan where you can enjoy a cozy afterglow on a couch. The sleuths can build camps here to their heart's content on roller balls of the sand dune. If there is a rain shower, no problem, you can shelter here from the raindrops.
There is also an ice cream cart at this place (on the public road) every day in good weather. A well-deserved reward for big and small.
After a visit to this piece of Gnome Land, everyone will enjoy it for a long time to come.
The children deserve a nap in the car after 2 to 3 hours of fun.
