There is not much left of the castle ruins, but the wall is still impressive and, above all, the path over the Tannegger Grat is an absolutely beautiful rooty and cool ridge path. Is worth a trip!

Tannegg: The Tannegger Amt, formerly part of the diocese of Constance and then came under the rule of the monastery Fischingen, played an important role in history. Unfortunately, the documentary 1245 documented castle and grounds belong to the past. Today, only the recently restored ruins testify to their existence. Meaning the castle was the administrative center of the newly created Tannegger office and as a stronghold of the Bishop of Constance against the Abbot of St. Gallen.

The castle and her later extended in the middle of the 14th century Vorwerk Vorwerk were cremated in 1407 by the Appenzeller. Four years later, the inhabitants of Zurich burned the area. The castle was built again, but the town, of whose city rights and market nothing is handed down, proved by its altitude northwest of the village Dussnang on the Tannegger ridge and by its seclusion as not viable and entered. The tower was demolished only towards the end of the 19th century and the Tuffquadersteine used to build three Murgbrücken.
