Läckö Castle is one of the biggest attractions in Västergötland. The well-preserved baroque castle with roots from the Middle Ages is located on the tip of the island Kållandsö in a beautiful hiking area right on the banks of the Vänern.

The De la Gardie castle

Castle Läckö got its present form from its son, Magnus Gabriel De la Gardie. 1654 began the extensive construction work. The magnificent halls with their murals and ceiling decorations were mostly created in the second half of the 17th century.
