    The Lagginhorn is considered the "third easiest", but above the ridge it is the only 4,000-meter peak in the Alps that can be climbed without a glacier.

    The "normal route" is now considered to be the entire ridge instead of the glacier, of which only a rubble-covered field remains.

    Just before the summit, the path markings have now been placed slightly to the right under the summit instead of (still marked on Komoot) over a snow field where a whole family tragically fell a few years ago - which shows that even a mountain that is comparatively easy to climb is taken seriously should take.

    The path is steep, but if routed correctly, it does not go beyond climbing 1 - although the "key point" is probably the slab, which can become a problem when it is wet.

    Of course, you should also take the weather into account due to the altitude. Even in midsummer, freedom from snow is not a given. My tour in October was more of a stroke of luck - you have to be able to turn back.

    Space is limited at the summit; for a suitable bivouac site you should plan at least 900 m of descent in daylight.
