The Lögeralm is located at approximately 1,350 meters above sea level amidst the impressive mountain landscape of Hinterstoder in the Totes Gebirge mountains of Upper Austria.
The starting point is the Alpengasthof Baumschlagerreith (724 meters), from where you can reach the alpine pasture in about 1.5–2 hours via forest paths and switchbacks.
The alpine pasture is not open for business, but offers a wonderful resting place with views of rugged rock faces, grazing cows, and the entrance to the spectacular Stodertal Dolomitensteig trail. The trail itself is difficult (marked in black), with rope safety devices, narrow paths, and impressive rock formations – ideal for sure-footed hikers with a good head for heights and a good level of fitness.
This is a great place to rest before things get serious on the Dolomitensteig trail ;-)
