The lake of Pian Palù is an artificial basin, located in the municipality of Peio, which exploits the waters of the basin of the river Noce, a right-hand tributary of the river Adige. The tank was built by the company Edisonvolta S.p.a. of Milan around the fifties to 1800 m s.l.m., has a capacity of 15.5 million cubic meters. It can be reached on foot from the Fontanino di Celentino, in about 20 minutes. From here there are many paths: for the Conca del Montozzo and the Rifugio Bozzi, for the classic tour of the lake to the Palù hut, the path to the Paludei hut, Lake Stiel, the path to the bivouac "Battaglione Sciatori Monte Ortles", the Passo della Sforzellina, the Corno dei Tre Signori, the ponds of the Vallumbrina, the val Piana, the val dei Orsi with the possibility of the San Matteo peak reaching the Meneghello bivouac.
