The romantic Gaistal in Leutasch in Tyrol, where the beauty of untouched nature still shapes the landscape, stretches from Oberleutasch-Klamm westwards into the alpine world between Mieminger Kette and Wettersteingebirge. The central starting point for hikes to the cultivated mountain pastures as well as the numerous mountain and refuge huts are the five parking spaces between the gorge and the end of the public road on the Salzbach.

The glorious high valley is on the one hand the realm of alpine pastures, on the other hand one with original and unmistakable mountain nature. Here there are still extensive areas for deer, chamois and deer, while nesting in the walls of the Wetterstein Mountains the golden eagle. The Gaistal was also one of the favorite places of the poet Ludwig Ganghofer, who had his hunting lodge above the Tillfußalm.

The Gaistal is beautiful, both for cyclists and hikers. Everyone gets their money's worth here. The landscape impresses with its humpback meadows, its many cows and the great alpine pastures. It is not for nothing that the Gaistal is also known as the valley of the alpine pastures.
