    Despite Corona, this extraordinary observation tower is open for inspection. A staircase leads up and down through the shape of a double helix, which are then signposted for one-way traffic. With the car park just 400 meters away, the tower is very popular.

                          Architecturally top and from an engineering point of view a successful tower!

                          Due to the rope construction it is a bit wobbly at the top when it is windy, but a nice view all around.

                                The hanging ball in the middle of the tower is a vibration absorber (absorber pendulum or absorber for short). It evens out the resonant frequencies which, without this absorber, could cause the tower to vibrate excessively or even collapse. The vibrations of the tower are mainly caused by wind.
                                Such absorbers are also used in tall buildings.
