Name of the Albis Range
The Kappel am Albis Monastery was founded in the Middle Ages. The Cistercian monks wore white albs. For a time, such "white brothers" lived on the mountain range above, known at the time as "Albi" (=the Whites). This is where the name of the mountain range comes from: the Albis Range.
