Bonaguil Castle is a jewel of medieval architecture.
This fortress, built in the 13th century and rebuilt and enlarged by Baron Bérenger of Roquefeuil in the late 15th and early 16th centuries, has an impressive defense system and has never suffered a military attack. The castle of Bonaguil, a perfect example of the development of architecture and military techniques from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance period to the beginnings of fortress construction according to Vauban, takes young and old visitors on a true journey back to the time of the knights. Keep, towers and turrets, loopholes, chicane, bunkers, cannons, drawbridges and trenches are still impressive contemporary witnesses. (source: france-voyage.com)

Bonaguil Castle was built in the 13th century. It is an impressive medieval castle with towers, turrets, and drawbridges still intact. It is a well-preserved historical monument and well worth a visit. It can be seen from quite a distance.
