The fountain theater (sometimes also referred to as fountain theater; formerly: Kurtheater) in the Helmstedt district of Bad Helmstedt in Lower Saxony was built in 1927 in the Lappwald.
In the season from September to May, 50 to 60 performances of tour ensembles take place in the 615-seat theater, including numerous guest performances by well-known and international stages.
The Kurtheater, which first opened on June 18, 1815, came to a standstill as a result of the First World War. The rather simple half-timbered building was demolished in 1924. Today's theater was reopened on June 1, 1927 under the name Brunnentheater after three years of construction with the operetta Countess Mariza.
