                The Cala Pi de la Posada is located on the Formentor Mountains and opens in Badia de Pollenca. It is a fantastically beautiful sandy bay with a beach that runs flat into the sea. The specialty here are the maritime pines, which reach as far as the sea, and not only provide the swimmer with a beautiful backdrop, but also provide shade.

                            Cala Formentor or Cala Pi de la Posada is a roadstead where Cala Gentil is located, Platja de Formentor, the famous hotel of the same name, and opposite the coast, the Formentor islet.


                            The Hotel Formentor has an international reputation for hosting illustrious guests, artists and politicians, and for hosting events of world importance. Winston Churchill, John Wayne, Octavio Paz have been here ...
                            The narrow but kilometer-long beach has fine sand and a brilliant white.
                            The dense pine forest and holm oaks of the Formentor peninsula surround this beach. The branches of the trees almost touch the crystal clear water of the Mediterranean, which bathes this heavenly, dreamy stretch of coast.
                            The water and underwater conditions are ideal for anchoring. Extreme caution is advised against the risk of stranding in south-east-south-south-west winds. The sandy bottom is at a depth that is between five meters at three hundred meters and three meters at two hundred meters from the coast. It is also not advisable to sail through or anchor in the canal that exists between the coast and Illa de Formentor, as it is only one meter deep. Port de Pollença is 3.5 nautical miles away.
                            The nearest town is Port de Pollença, 12 km away.
                            Getting here by car is easy, just follow the signs. You can also take the public bus; the next stop is nearby.

                                    Formentor beach truly captivated me with its turquoise waters and fragrant pine trees. When I arrived early in the morning, a special sense of tranquility hung over the place. I spread my blanket under a shady tree and simply enjoyed the view of the sea. The photos I took there remind me of the unique moments I experienced there.

                                    However, I must say that the construction work for a new hotel is somewhat dampening the atmosphere. It disrupts the otherwise peaceful ambiance. I also noticed the high prices in the surrounding restaurants.

                                    Parking fees are also charged by the minute and can add up quickly.

                                    Nevertheless, the beach is an ideal starting point for hikes along the coast. If you bring provisions and perhaps arrive during off-peak times, you can fully enjoy the natural beauty of this place. Despite a few minor setbacks, it was a worthwhile visit for me, one that I will remember for a long time.
