Schwante near Oranienburg is the noble seat of the von Redern family. The area around is extremely rich in frogs, because there are many in the near extensive forests of the swamps.

At one time a Herr von Redern was seriously ill, and since the frogs made an uncanny noise with their screeching, especially at night, the patient could not sleep at night, and his condition grew worse and worse.
