Around 1704, Frederick William I (Mecklenburg) built a wooden hut with oak boards and painted log cabin as a hunting lodge on the site of today's restored hunting lodge. Baumeister was allegedly the engineer captain Jacob Reutz, who was also responsible for the development of the Schwerin Schelfstadt and its Schelfkirche [1]. According to an old Havemann chronicle, the hunting lodge was built with superimposed beams. The joints are sealed with moss, the walls are covered with oak boards and painted on the outside.
