From Hahntenjoch it goes over a hiking trail towards Steinjöchle (2198m), which also forms the conclusion of the Heiterwand. From here ascending direction Maldongrat (2544m). Since I did this tour with the ascent to the Falschkogel, I was due to time constraints not at the top of the Maldongrat. Of course, from there the view of the surrounding mountains of the Lechtal Alps is just as nice or even better. However, one should make no hopes for solitary hikes here, as in the Falschkogel. Up to the Steinjöchle "the traffic" rages particularly on weekends or holidays, since the Hahntenjoch is easy to reach easily by car, motorcycle or other means of transport. If possible you should therefore avoid the weekends or holidays. But after the Steinjöchl it gets much calmer.

The mountain tour to the Maldongrat is short, partly exposed and involves easy climbing in the summit area. Surefootedness and a head for heights are a prerequisite for this panoramic tour, which leads from the Hahntennjoch to an altitude of 2,544 meters.
