Today, the south wing is owned by the city, which, after extensive renovation, makes it available for weddings, among other things. The renovation took place between 2011 and 2017 after 31 years of vacancy. This was an "energy-efficient and substance-preserving renovation" in a project funded by the Federal Office for Building and carried out primarily by the German Half-Timbered House Center Quedlinburg e.V. The renovation measures included the repair of windows, floors, ceilings and roof structures as well as the renovation of the exterior walls and professional plaster renewal. In addition to energy-efficient insulation, efforts were also made to restore the historical paintings inside. This included, in detail, wooden beam paintings such as floral ornamentation, flower tendrils and panel paintings and a 19th century wall decoration; on the other hand, the noble coats of arms of the ancestors and relatives of the von Rössings in the Knights' Hall, such as the coats of arms of the families of Ilten, Veltheim, Gadenstedt, Oldershausen, Mandelsloh, Knigge, Landesbergen, Steinberg, Saldern, Haus, Rabe v. Pappenheim and Asseburg. There are also elaborate designs in the former private chambers of the von Rössings.
