Minden Fortress was a fortress in the East Westphalian town of Minden on the River Weser in what is now North Rhine-Westphalia. It served a strategic purpose, was garrisoned and thanks to its fortifications could be permanently defended against all attacks. It encompassed the strategically important city on the Weser ford and the breakthrough valley of the Porta Westfalica as well as the former diocese of Minden.

The fortress formed a ring around the city, which could only be entered through five city gates. There were different degrees of expansion from the medieval city wall to the Prussian fortress with ramparts and fortifications. The Minden Fortress was designed to protect the city from artillery fire with military bulwarks and to control entry and exit with the help of the fortress gates.
