The small town of Glambeck was first mentioned in a document in 1348, but was subsequently abandoned. It was not until 1690 that families from Switzerland settled in the Feldmark. The church built at that time was replaced in 1901 by the current church, built in neo-Gothic brick style.

Incidentally, Glambeck gained some notoriety in 2016 when an extremely competitive stork attacked window panes and dark-painted cars. Apparently he could see his reflection there and didn't want to tolerate “the other” in his territory.
