The Sella del Mesco offers a unique panorama. Here are the ancient ruins of the Hermitage of Sant'Antonio which dates back to 1380. Some studies made on the structure date its original construction in the 11th century with a dormitory attached to the church. Today only the apse, part of the vault and the perimeter wall remain visible. The complex was abandoned in 1610 when the religious were transferred to the new monastery of the Augustinians in Levanto. There was also a statue of Saint Anthony the Abbot kept today in the oratory of Death and Prayer in the historic center of Monterosso. Continuing towards the tip you will also come across the abandoned buildings of the Mesco traffic light belonging to the Marina.
