In the choir is an 11-meter-high monumental amber altar in the shape of a soaring lily, which is dedicated to the memory of the 28 shipyard workers who perished in protests in December 1970.

You simply have to see it!
The construction of this giant took a whopping 17 years. And that shouldn't surprise us, because extracting a corresponding amount of this valuable material is no easy undertaking. Despite difficulties, the altar achieved impressive dimensions. It is almost 13 meters high and has a total of 120m2 of amber surface - these are dimensions that even exceed the dimensions of the famous lost Amber Room (4.2 m high and 78m2 of surface). According to Wikipedia, the altar is only 11 meters high and is in the shape of a rising lily. The altar is dedicated to the memory of the 28 shipyard workers who died during protests in December 1970.
Construction period 2000 - 2017
I saw this altar for the first time 9 years ago, when it wasn't as big as it is now - but it was impressive even then.
