The walk to Drottningarhola and the warm water river in Reykjadalur is approximately 3 km long and takes approximately 45-60 minutes one way, with plenty of opportunities for photo stops along the way. Along the way you will encounter several hot springs and mud pools, and the walking route can sometimes be steep and narrow.

The valley is really great. I did not camp there, but spent some nice hours with the family there. You have to be careful that you do not burn yourself, but you can already find the right places.
My tip: smaratun.is spent there half a year in parental leave. Great location overlooking Eyjafjallajökull, the volcano that paralyzed air traffic in Europe in 2009. From there it is not far to Skogarfoss and Seljalandsfoss.
