You must have been here with good weather when the wind is blowing strongly and you like rugged nature, fleeting figures of sand streams, a glowing beach under blue skies with the shadows of sliding clouds.

Seals can often be spotted on sandbanks along the beach at the northwestern tip of Terschelling. The dunes are very high and picturesque. This part can only be reached on foot, so it looks very untouched and is deserted. In the firing area, at the westernmost tip, wind and water repeatedly expose old ammunition that should never be touched. In the bays you can watch hundreds of seabirds gathering there in the evenings. In the inland area there are some trails that lead through the heathland.
