Ludwig Dürr, sub-forester of Weil im Schönbuch, was shot by a poacher on April 28, 1813. Dürr lived until May 21 and died in Altdorf.
The stone was erected around 1820 near the thieves' path on the slope to the Goldersbach valley, then repositioned around 1983 by the Bebenhausen forestry office at the current location (Schinde oak).
