Saint John the Baptist (San Giovanni Battista), after whom this baptismal church in Siena was named, is - like Saint Joseph - a man on the threshold of the Old and New Testaments. His parents are Zacharias and Elizabeth. If visiting the tower is impossible (fully booked, too expensive, ...), it is worth visiting the Babtisterium (approx. € 7). At the same time you get a free entrance ticket for the cathedral.
