Idyllic lake in Barnim, which is well worth circling. On one side there is Strausberg Stadt (it is also worth a stroll) and on the other side forest. In addition to a swimming pool (on the city side), there are also free swimming spots on the lake. Those who cannot complete a complete circuit can also use the ferry, which is located approximately in the middle of the lake.

From Berlin you can reach the Straussee with the S-Bahn line 5 towards Strausberg Nord to the Strausberg Stadt station.

The Straussee is an Ice Age trough lake that is located near the town of Strausberg named after it in the Brandenburg district of Märkisch-Oderland. It is located approximately 30 km northeast of Berlin in the forest and lake-rich landscape of eastern Barnim.

The lake has an extent from northeast to southwest of about 3.8 km and is up to 340 m wide. Approximately in the middle of the lake it is crossed by the electrically operated Straussee ferry. In addition to the local residents, the lake is mainly used for local recreation by the population of nearby Berlin. There is a public swimming pool here and several free accesses for swimming. There is also the possibility of renting boats and a diving center.
