The Stavel "Francesco Denza" refuge is located just below the north face of the Presanella peak. This, with its 3,558 meters of altitude, is the highest mountain in Trentino.
The refuge presents many aspects of historical interest relating to the First World War and has a large dining room and numerous beds.
Next to the refuge there is also a welcoming bivouac.

The rustic Rifugio Stavel Francesco Denza is a refuge and is located on the edge of the Presanella on Lago Denza. You can enjoy a fantastic view from the sun terrace. The hut is located at 2,298 meters and belongs to the Società degli Alpinisti Tridentini.
Open from mid-June to mid-September, 56 beds available.

Through a winding and narrow military road (First World War) you reach the remains of the Italian fort "Pozzi Alti". From here begins an easy path (the slopes increase towards the goal) which in about 2 hours leads to the Denza refuge. The food is very good and the managers are very nice
