Anyone who climbs the stockpile and the 30-meter-high, walk-in sculpture has a fantastic 360 ° panoramic view of large parts of the Saarland from a total of 180 meters, whose varied landscape and business locations lie at the viewer's feet.

The Saar polygon changes in many ways with the time of day and the location of the viewer. Natural interplay of light and shadow enliven the structure during the day, while strips of light on the staircase structure allow the sculpture's inner opening system to emerge at night. Then the Saar polygon seems to shine from the inside.

This 30 meter high steel construction has stood on the Duhamel spoil heap since 2016 to commemorate the several hundred year history of Saarland mining. It also serves as a viewing platform and is freely accessible. The panoramic view is very rewarding. In the meantime, green waste heaps, factories and the Dillinger Hütte can be seen in a beautiful landscape.
