Elsfleth has been one of the most important training centers for seafarers in Germany for over 150 years. This is where the sailing training ship "Grand Duchess Elisabeth", affectionately known as "Lissi" by the people of Elsfleth, has its berth and home port. Future ship mechanics and future captains still go on long journeys on the ship to experience seafaring in all its diversity.

With the proud three-masted gaff schooner you can enjoy historical windjammer sailing without having to forego the comforts of a cozy interior. You too can sail with the "Lissi" and discover the world on day trips or longer journeys on the Weser, North and Baltic Seas.

The ship also offers a wonderful ambience as a "wedding room". During the lay times in the port of Elsfleth, civil marriages are also carried out on the "Grand Duchess Elisabeth".
