Giewont is really the whole massif. This is its highest peak, Wielki Giewont. Giewont is the symbol of Zakopane, the Polish Tatras and Podhale. Because it is, you can expect crowds here - this peak is extremely popular. Especially at the very top, you have to be careful, because everything can be slippery for hundreds of feet here.

The Wielki Giewont is stormed by tourists in low shoes. Long waiting times have to be accepted when climbing the summit. So rather skip it. 😒

Giewont (1895) is one of Zakopane's four local mountains. A large cross stands on its summit. However, as one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Tatra Mountains, the peak quickly becomes overcrowded in summer.
