Kanonenplatz is located below the Greenwich Promenade. There are two cast-iron cannons from the 18th century, which the Scot William Carron of Falkirk made. They used to serve as British coastal defenses. The district received the two-ton cannons as a gift from their sister city Greenwich in April 1983. From Kanonenplatz you have a stunning view over Lake Tegel and its islands.

"I love Tegel" writes: "The Greenwich district of London has been a partner of the Reinickendorf district since 1967. As a sign of friendship, the red telephone box, a red fire alarm and two English cannons are in Tegel, which the district received as a gift in April 1983. At the "Kanonenplatz" directly on the shores of Lake Tegel are the two cast-iron cannons from the 18th century, made by the Scot William Carron of Falkirk and formerly used for British coastal defense, weighing 2 tons each.
