The name may be a bit confusing - is probably historical. Baden is strictly prohibited due to the current. Nevertheless, the meadow attracts many visitors: barbecues, ball games, Rhine ships or just enjoy the sun. There is also a playground and a restaurant with a large terrace.

Here it goes along the Rhine and you can see the ships. You can stop off at the Purino lido. A little further there are public toilets.

The Mannheim lido is located in the Niederfeld district.
It is bordered by the "Reißinsel" nature reserve, the "At the silver poplar" nature reserve and the parking lot in front of the lido.
The area at today's lido and the Reißinsel were acquired by Carl Reiß in 1881 and bequeathed to the people of Mannheim after his death to enable people to relax in nature. In 1927 the Rheinstrandbad was opened for the first time.
