Sønderstrand, up to 4 km wide, is a playground for children and adults.

Here you are also allowed to drive sand yachts across the beach.

The northern part of Sønderstrand is dedicated to kite buggies, which are controlled with your feet and the arms hold the kite that drives the vehicle.

The southern part of the beach is dedicated to ordinary sand yachts, blocarts,

which have sails and handlebars and are relatively easy to drive.

Rømø offers - as one of the few places in Denmark - the opportunity to drive the equipment directly onto the beach. There is plenty of space for those who prefer to watch, swim, sunbathe or walk in the dunes.

Just like on Lakolk beach, cars are also allowed to drive right up to the water here.

However, you have to take the tides into account.
