The Bavarian Forest Museum Village is one of the most popular attractions in the Bavarian Forest. Over the past decades, one of Europe's largest open-air museums has been created on the beautiful Dreiburgensee lake. Today, over 140 mostly furnished buildings attract numerous visitors every year. Upon entering the museum village, you'll be immersed in a bygone world and can marvel at the diverse house and farm structures of the Bavarian Forest from the 14th to the 19th centuries: mills, sawmills, field monuments, and chapels. A special attraction is Germany's oldest elementary school.

For a weather-dependent mixed day the museum village offers a lot to discover interesting. Whether the art of beer brewing or the wooden rafting - a lot is shown. Amazing is how long the houses were inhabited. It's worth a visit. And if you feel like taking further steps, you will pass by Lake Dreiburgensee. With good luck, you can not only marvel at the weavers, but also admire a specimen.
