The post mill is the oldest type of windmill in Europe. The main feature of this type of mill is that the entire mill house stands on a single thick pole, which is fixed vertically in a wooden support frame located below the actual mill.

The mill was built in 1862 by Lois Winter as the 2nd mill in Breunsdorf.
In 1985 negotiations were held on the implementation from Breunsdorf to Schönau.
On January 18, 1986, she fell through rotten cones and struts and mostly it was only broken wood. The reconstruction took 3 years (1991-1993), the construction 1 year, from July 1994 to June 1995. Everything was built with muscle power, without a crane.
The mountain is heaped up and lies on the edge of the Borna-Ost open pit.
The mill is 13m high, 6.5m long and 5.20m wide with a roof. The wing diameter is 19m long, that of the comb wheel 3.60m. The wing, shaft and comb wheel weigh about 5 tons.

Viewing is possible with the agreement of the owner.
