This pedunculate oak on Kroondomein 't Loo is also called the "Kroeze Oak". The oak seems to grow very slowly. On average, the circumference of the oaks in the Veluwe grows by about 1 centimeter per year. That does not apply to this oak!

This tree is called "Kroeze Eik". This appears to be a (very) slow growing tree. Average annual ring thicknesses of 1 to 2 mm are no exception for older oaks in the Veluwe, which means an average growth in circumference of about 1 cm per year. This tree is also indicated on the topographic map of 1907, which also indicates that the tree must have had a certain size (and age) at that time. The stone near the tree was placed by Queen Wilhelmina.

The girth of the tree, measured at a height of 1.30 m, is 2.59 m (Aug 21, 2018, AlfredHrustinga). Its height is exactly 12 m (Aug 21, 2018, laser with Sine method (eg Nikon Forestry 550 laser rangefinder), AlfredHrustinga). This tree was planted around the year 1800 ± 50, which makes it around 220 ± 50 years old (AlfredHrustinga, Oct 22, 2018).
