The 'Katharinakapellekerk' used to be on this location, the old church square of Sint - Katharinakapelle (now Pervijze territory). This church was demolished in 1895. Now only the foundations and the old rectory tower remain. The old rectory tower was rebuilt, reinforced, and raised during World War I and was then used as an 'Oberservatiepost over the inundated area.
