Many events take place at the Apostles Church. For example, a Christmas market is organized where residents and visitors can meet. Prayers for peace are held, which everyone is welcome to participate in.

The Church of the Apostles in Hamburg-Eimsbüttel was built in 1894 according to designs by the architects Erwin von Melle and Peter Gottlob. The church was adorned with paintings by the artist H. Saffer above the altar.

The Church of the Apostles survived the Second World War unscathed, but a fire in September 1977 almost completely destroyed its interior. The reconstruction by the architect Bernhard Hirche fundamentally altered the church:

An intermediate floor was added, creating the sanctuary on the upper level, while the foyer below, with its kitchen and various-sized community rooms, provided space for events. The chancel was relocated within the church. The altarpieces, designed to resemble film reels, now depict six women and men who have served as modern-day apostles in the hundred years since the church's construction.
