      Linz the city at the foot of the Westerwald directly on the Rhine, with beautiful half-timbered houses. From the train station one arrives in one of the Roten Schienenbuse, the Kasbachtalbahn, up in the beautiful and historical Westerwald, with its well-developed paths that promise peace and relaxation and also hold up to Kalenborn.

                For only € 1.60 per person you can translate to Linz in less than 5 minutes. Linz on the Rhine has nothing to do with Linz in Austria, but it is still worth a short detour. You can eat delicious right after you have passed through the city gate. There are plenty of cafes and ice cream parlors. In the village itself, it is a bit rocky up to the actual marketplace, unfortunately, nothing was going on during our visit. The small square behind the city gate is more lively.
