The impressive Atlas (Telamon) was created in 1729 as a name-day gift for the wife of Baron Goswin Lübbert von Ketteler. It overlooks Herrkotten Castle von Ketteler.

To reach the statue, you drive along a narrow but beautiful route from the castle in a rectangle around a field.
Since you're actually driving through a narrow green tunnel, you should drive slowly and cautiously so that pedestrians don't have to jump out of the way.
