The very useful ferry service to go from Porto Levante to Albarella and vice versa without passing by the Romea state road. Function all summer. You can't see it easily because it's not indicated but just ask in the area.
However, it is better to call first to agree on times and number on 3298607630.
Price of the summer 2020 is 2,50 Euros for one person and the bike.
The service is provided by the municipality of Porto Viro (RO) and by marinocacciatori.it.

The new experimental public transport service by water "boat step" for river connections started operating on Saturday 13 May 2023
Boat pass between Porto Levante and Albarella open from May to October: times and costs of the service
Boat pass between Porto Levante and Albarella open from May to October.
The service will be active throughout the summer period and will continue until October.
Opening hours and costs of the service
Starting from Saturday 13 May 2023 and for the month of May, the boat passage service will be guaranteed every weekend, from Friday to Sunday.
In the months of June, July, September and October it will be active on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, while in August it will operate every day.
8 daily passages at the following times: morning at 8.30, 10.00, 11.00 and 12.00; afternoon at 15.30, 17.00, 18.30 and 19.15.
Ticket cost: €2 with the possibility of taking the bicycle on, children up to 11 years free (if accompanied).

As of May 2nd, 2022. Ferry operations have been suspended until further notice. On the south bank, the sign with the operating times is unchanged. On the north bank it was crossed out and operations stopped written on it. We found out about the small boat harbor operator about 100 m east of the departure point. It's a shame they don't exist anymore...
