Located in the heart of Upper Carinthia, Spittal an der Drau offers a successful symbiosis of tradition and modernity: cultural awareness and traces steeped in history await you here as well as vibrant life in the numerous shops and modern shopping centers, in the many cafés and restaurants that await you with their sun terraces invite you to linger.

You will feel a touch of southern serenity when you stroll through the enchanting old town, the city park and past Porcia Castle - the city's landmark. On the south bank of the lake you have the opportunity to refresh your tired bones in the cool water. If the weather isn't great, you can go to the indoor pool. There is a wide variety of accommodations in Spittal. There is the right accommodation for every taste and budget.

Spittal an der Drau is a municipality with 15,151 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2022) and at the same time the seat of the district authority of the district of the same name in the federal state of Carinthia in Austria. The town at the intersection of Drautal, Liesertal, Millstätter See, Nockberge and Mölltal is the urban center of Upper Carinthia.
