A really idyllic place with many historical buildings that tell of the old times, when the wealth was achieved here through the salt deposits and their mining. Today it is a place for excursions that can only be reached via the quayside or by boat. Parking is problematic, almost impossible in the village itself. Hallstatt is very popular with tourists, a large part of them come from China, where there is a replica of the world-famous world cultural heritage.

If ever there was a postcard-perfect town, it’s Austria’s Hallstatt. Pastel-coloured houses overlook a shimmering lake framed by soaring, green mountains that create an impossibly pretty scene. Winter in Hallstatt is so visually spectacular that it’s often compared to the fictional Arendelle in the movie, Frozen but it isn’t true... 😂😂

A wonderful place, a sightseeing highlight. Perfect for exploring, there is a sight hidden in every little corner and the view of the lake is wonderful.
