The observation tower at Taubenberg

The stone tower was built in the years 1910/11 by the municipality of Munich in the course of the expansion of the water supply of Munich in the Mangfalltal in place of a wooden tower. Once you have climbed the 105 steps of the tower, you will be rewarded with a view of the Schliersee and Tegernsee mountains and the view over the Munich Schotterebene to the Bavarian capital.

The tower can also be reached in about ¼ hour from the inn, where you also get the key for a deposit. The tower is from 1.11. - 31.3. closed.

The path leads comfortably out of the forest to the small chapel on the Taubenberg and on a forest path back down to the mountain inn.
