This is the site of a historic court. Here was probably spoken in the Middle Ages under the Counts of Leiningen law. There were probably 9 chairs symbolized by the smaller stones, which are provided with place names.

The Stump Forest Court or District Court on the Stampe, later Rügegericht Neun Stuhle, is a court of law for the Counts of Leiningen in the northern Palatinate Forest. It is one of the three imperial district courts in Wormsgau.

The place is 4 km northeast of Alsenborn. Supposedly, there was already a court or thing here in the Germanic or even Celtic times. The area of the stump forest was called "Stamp" from the 8th to the 13th century, later "Stampf". In 1933, the municipality of Alsenborn erected a memorial in the form of a ring made of nine small square stones, the small chairs. One of the chairs stands for the Neunmärker, the nine communities in the area that have forest rights. In the middle of the Small Chairs is the Big Chair, a ashlar stone bearing the inscription “District Court of the Counts of Wormsgau and Dukes of Franconia 6.–15. century".
